We are taking a number of precautions to prevent the spread of COVID if an infected student, parent or staff comes into our school.
We do a temperature check with an infrared thermometer every morning on each person who will be in our school for an extended period of time, which includes all students, staff and volunteers. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4℉ or greater is sent home.
We have a mask policy for anyone entering the building.
We have built transparent three-sided desk shields for every student desk in the 1st -8th grade classrooms.
Pre-K through 4th grade enjoy an outdoor education program and spend much of the day outside when weather permits. The students do not need to wear a mask outdoors.
We wipe down desks, shields, and doorknobs each day, and do comprehensive cleaning each week.
We are doing all of this so students still have the opportunity to learn in person each day. We believe students need positive social interaction throughout this pandemic. Online only or hybrid classes do not offer the same opportunity for socialization and they put a disconnect between the student and teacher. We believe all of our precautions make a safe environment where students can enjoy an in person educational experience.
